MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Georgia voters now have access to a new tool for tracking absentee ballots, as announced by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Thursday. This feature, available on the Georgia My Voter Page (MVP), allows absentee-by-mail voters to monitor the progress of their ballot from request to acceptance, enhancing voter confidence amid ongoing concerns about delays with the United States Postal Service (USPS).

“We’re doing everything we can to protect your vote,” said Secretary Raffensperger.  “Georgians, take advantage of ballot tracking if you choose to vote by mail.”

The tracking tool, powered by Ballot Scout, sends real-time notifications on the status of absentee ballots. Voters can subscribe to updates via text, email, or phone call by visiting the Absentee Ballot Portal on their MVP account and updating their preferences. They can also customize when they receive notifications.

Key Details for Georgia Voters:

Mail ballots for most voters will be sent out by county election offices starting October 7th.
Voters can choose to vote via absentee-by-mail, in person during the 17 days of early voting, or on election day (November 5th).
If a voter’s absentee ballot has not been accepted by the county elections office, they can still cast their vote in person.

This ballot tracking initiative is part of broader efforts by Raffensperger to modernize Georgia’s election system. Since 2019, his office has implemented key measures such as photo ID requirements for all voting methods, paper ballots for all forms of voting, and a minimum of 17 days of early voting.
