Oklahoma City’s busiest airline has been picked by USA Today readers as the best airline.
Southwest Airlines was chosen as part of USA Today’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards, being given high marks for their cabin crew, economy class offerings and inflight entertainment.
While you won’t find first class seats or luxe airport lounges when flying with Southwest, the popular American-based airline wins passengers over with a host of perks. Southwest offers low fares, free baggage allowance, no fees for flight changes or cancellations, and spacious seats, compared to their competitors.
Over the past year, Southwest has ferried more than 855,000 people on flights leaving Oklahoma, making it the busiest airline operating at OKC Will Rogers International Airport.

OKC’s second-most popular carrier, American Airlines, was chosen by readers as the fifth-best airline behind Southwest, Delta Air Lines, Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific.
Other airlines rounding out the top 10 include United, Alaska, Singapore, JetBlue and Emirates.
Best airline cabin crew
USA Today readers also showered praise on Southwest Airlines’ cabin crews, who imbue a sense of levity with every aspect of flying, even the pre-flight safety briefing.
Southwest’s visual branding includes its Heart logo, which represents the kind of relationship the company wants with its customers.
“When you see it by the door when you walk into the plane, we were welcoming you into our home,” an airline executive said when the logo was launched a decade ago. “But the smallness of it really (spoke) to our humbleness, our authenticity, and our care.”
Cabin crews at Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines were ranked fifth and 10th, respectively.
