Two Magic Valley female wrestlers are ranked among the nation’s best.
Buhl sophomore Roxy Sheen and Jerome sophomore Olivia Bezdicek were ranked in the preseason top 30 of their respective weight classes through a collaboration between USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum.
Sheen is ranked No. 20 in the 145-pound weight class, while Bezdicek is ranked No. 25 in the 125-pound weight class. They won state championships as freshmen and secured All-American status at 16U Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota in July.
The Magic Valley entered this weekend with two girls champions and left with three more. Canyon Ridge’s Riana Walter (165), Jerome’s Olivia Bezdicek (120) and Buhl’s Roxy Sheen (138) won.
Sheen placed fifth in the 16U women’s freestyle 142-pound bracket, while Bezdicek placed seventh in the 16U women’s freestyle 124-pound bracket.
Bezdicek went undefeated on her way to capturing the 120-pound state title in February. She became Jerome’s first female state champion.

Sheen lost just once on her way to winning the 138-pound state title in February, then placed fifth in the 16U women’s freestyle 142-pound bracket in Fargo. She was Buhl’s first placer in the event.

Lewiston senior Joely Slyter is ranked No. 8 at 105 pounds, Meridian native Kaidance Gerg is ranked No. 4 at 125 pounds, Blackfoot sophomore Keanna Conrad is ranked No. 18 at 125 pounds, Kuna senior Zoe Fries is ranked No. 22 at 135 pounds, Meridian senior Elise Twait is ranked No. 20 at 155 pounds and Mountain Home senior Amie Hartman is ranked No. 2 at 190 pounds.
