Trinity new No. 1 team in Class 6A media poll

This week’s Kentucky High School Football Media Poll features two new No. 1 teams.

Trinity (4-1) moved on top of Class 6A following Friday’s 24-21 victory over previous No. 1 Male. The Shamrocks received all 16 first-place votes.

Male (3-1) dropped to No. 2 and is followed by Manual (5-0), St. Xavier (2-2) and Frederick Douglass (3-2).

Cooper (5-0) is the new No. 1 team in Class 5A, outpointing No. 2 Bowling Green, 151-150. Cooper and Bowling Green (4-1) both received eight first-place votes.

Keeping their No. 1 rankings were Boyle County (Class 4A), Christian Academy (3A), Owensboro Catholic (2A) and Campbellsville (A).

Trinity is the only unanimous No. 1.

The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative from each of the 16 football regions (as designated by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association) in order to provide geographical balance.
