Tennessee high school football Super 25 rankings entering TSSAA Week 6

Five weeks into the TSSAA football season, Baylor and McCallie seem to have a vise grip on the Nos. 1 and 2 spots on the USA Today Sports Network’s statewide Super 25 ranking.

The two teams ― who played for the Division II-AAA state championship last year ― have not been bumped from the top two positions as we enter Week 6.

Houston dropped from the ranks of the unbeaten after losing to Whitehaven, 21-14 last week. The Mustangs also took a dip in this week’s Super 25 ranking while teams like Oakland and Maryville escaped upsets.

A group of high school sports writers from the USA TODAY Sports Network vote during the season on the top 25 programs in Tennessee. First-place votes are in parentheses. Each first-place vote receives 25 points; each second-place vote receives 24 points, on down to No. 25, which receives one point.
