Trump, Vance campaigning in Georgia this week
Former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance are planning to campaign in Georgia again.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump visits Savannah on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to provide remarks on tax code and U.S. manufacturing during a frantic six-week sprint to the Nov. 5 election.
Georgia is a key battleground state for Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as the two square off in the presidential election. On Tuesday morning, Trump held a 1.4% lead in state polling in a state that Democrat Joe Biden won by less than 12,000 votes in 2020.
Trump visited western Pennsylvania on Monday to campaign on the economy in another swing state that candidates will continue to wage battle.
He last visited Georgia in early August with a rally in Atlanta while his running mate JD Vance visited south Georgia late in the month. A campaign rally featuring South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem stopped in Savannah just two weeks ago as part of the national “Team Trump Agenda 47 Policy Tour.”
Harris held a rally at Enmarket Arena and a Georgia Bus Tour in late August before returning on Friday, Sept. 20, to Marietta for remarks about reproductive freedoms and abortion bans.
With the race as tight as it is, this likely isn’t the final time candidates visit Georgia in the next six weeks.

From photographer Richard Burkhart at the Johnny Mercer Theatre Civic Center where Donald Trump will hold a rally at 1 p.m., the line to get in is currently from the entrance to the Civic Center and wraps out on to Barnard Street and stretches down liberty Street all the way to Whitaker and toward Oglethorpe street.
Savannah Morning news reporter Evan Lasseter, also at the Civic Center, traffic is backing up on the I-16 off ramp at Montgomery Street this morning. Montgomery Street is closed at Liberty Street.
