Dragon Lights Reno, Street Vibrations kick off fall in Northern Nevada

It’s the first full week of fall in Northern Nevada, and that means a full week of traditions, both old and new. At more than a century old, the Genoa Candy Dance is one of the region’s oldest continuously celebrated events, and Street Vibrations fall rally will bring an estimated 35,000 motorcycle lovers into the area. But there’s also the relatively new (and still anticipated) Cordillera International Film Festival and Dragon Lights Reno set to begin this week as well.

But despite last week’s fall-like rain and chill, this week will be a return to sunshine and 80-degree temperatures in the valleys.

Here’s a look at what else is happening for the week of Sept. 23-29, 2024.

RayBurger, Sept. 28: This DJ/producer from Texas dresses like a ’90s style cowboy — and proudly proclaims “I have a mullet” on his Instagram — but his sound couldn’t be more different. In fact, it’s pretty different from others in the club scene, as he merges hip-hop and Latin beats with bass/dubstep music. He’ll perform at 10 p.m. at Dead Ringer Analog Bar, 432 E. Forth St., Reno. Tickets are $15-$20. Details at facebook.com/DRABReno.
