CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – Illinois football is moving up in the AP poll after winning its Big Ten opener.
The Illini checked in at No. 19 on Sunday’s week five AP poll. Illinois is ranked No. 21 in the coaches poll. The boost in both spots comes after Illinois beat Nebraska 31-24 in overtime in Lincoln on Saturday.
Now, the Orange and Blue seeks its third ranked win of the year with another tough road test. Illinois visits No. 9 Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 28. Kickoff between the Illini and the Nittany Lions is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
