A Louisiana man who traveled to New Jersey to have sex with a 14-year-old last year after communicating with the teen on the Whisper messenger app has been sentenced to seven years in state prison.
Spencer Caudle, 36, of Prairieville, arranged to meet the teen in the Toms River area on May 27, 2023, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. He was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport the following month when he returned to meet with the 14-year-old a second time, authorities said.
Caudle pleaded guilty to sexual assault in April and will be required to register under Megan’s Law upon his release from prison. He has remained at the Ocean County jail since his arrest.
