Utah is one of the many schools formerly of the Pac-12 that made the jump to the Big 12 this season. Riding past success that included multiple conference championships, the Utes have hopes they can find a similar trend of winning with this Power 4 conference. They have played well enough to win their first three games of the season, including a non-conference victory over Baylor in Week 2. They have averaged over 35 points a game so far this season, including beating in-state rival Utah State last Saturday, 38-21.
Oklahoma State is trying to be one of the old guards to be near the top of the Big 12. The team with a high-power offense has the makings to be a championship contender, and a team that is capable of making it to the College Football Playoff. While they are 3-0 to start the year, they have has some moments of slipping, including overcoming a slow start against Arkansas to win a double-overtime thriller in Week 2. If they can keep the game simple, they can open this year’s conference schedule with a win.
This will be the second-ever meeting between the two schools, with OK State winning the first all the way back in 1945.
MY PICK: Utah wins, 28-24
