USA takes third at U-20 Women’s World Cup

The USA beat the Netherlands 2-1 on an own goal in the 119th minute to claim third place at the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup. It has not finished higher since it won in 2012.

The deciding goal in Bogota came when supersub Maddie Dahlien’s centering pass deflected off Dutch defender Nayomi Buikema and rolled into the right side of the goal pas keeper Femke Liefting.

The USA has won the U-20 World Cup in 2002, 2008 and 2012, finished third in 2004 and now 2024 and claimed fourth in 2006 and 2016.
