In what could be one of the better games of the first half of the college football season, Tennessee travels to Oklahoma for an SEC showdown, and offensive player projections are out via PrizePicks.

The Volunteers travel to Norman — a place where head coach Josh Heupel played and coached himself — with a white-hot offense, lead by quarterback Nico Iamaleava. On the season, Iamaleava has 698 passing yards and six touchdowns to two interceptions while completing 71.6% of his passes. He’s also rushed 17 times for 102 yards and a touchdown.

On the home side, alongside what appears to be the stingiest defense head coach Brent Venables has fielded yet, quarterback Jackson Arnold is coming along during his first year of starting, too. So far, Arnold has completed 62.8% of his passes for 484 yards and seven touchdowns to two interceptions in three games. He’s also rushed more than Iamaleava, carrying 36 times for 159 yards and two scores.

And with ESPN’s College GameDay in attendance for the primetime kickoff, plenty of buzz has been building around this game.

Passing: 251.5 yards
Rushing: 32.5 yards
Passing TDs: 1.5

Iamaleava has looked sharp for the Volunteers through three weeks and an undefeated start. He’s accounting for just shy of 275 yards a game so far, and his projection from PrizePicks for Saturday puts him right in that range, with 251.5 rushing yards and 32.5 passing yards projected. He’s also projected to throw 1.5 touchdowns.

Jackson Arnold, QB, Oklahoma

Passing: 244.5 yards
Rushing: 26.5 yards
Pass TDs: 1.5
Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

Arnold has not been as explosive of a passer as Iamaleava, but he’s still bee plenty productive through three games. And on Saturday night, Arnold is projected to amass around 270 total yards and two total touchdowns, according to PrizePicks projections.

Rushing: 85.5 yards
Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

In three games, Sampson has put together the following per-game stats: 15 carries, 119 yards and three touchdowns. He’s not expected to romp like that on Saturday night, but Sampson is still projected for 85.5 yards and 0.5 touchdowns, per PrizePicks.

OU RB Jovantae Barnes.(Nathan J. Fish – The Oklahoman/USA TODAY Network).

Rushing: 41.5 yards
Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

Barnes has absorbed the most carries in an Oklahoma backfield that’s worked via timeshare — Arnold is actually the leading rusher, so far. But Barnes isn’t far behind, with 31 carries for 126 yards this season. He’s projected to stay right around his usual output, as PrizePicks projects him for 41.5 yards and 0.5 touchdowns.

Receiving: 39.5 yards
Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

In a Tennessee passing attack that spreads the ball around, McCoy has served as a leading target, with his eight receptions second on the team. He’s also tied for third on the team with 108 yards. And he’s projected to keep up his leading contributions, with 39.5 yards and 0.5 touchdowns, per PrizePicks.

Receiving: 59.5 yards

While Tennessee has spread the ball far and wide in the passing attack, Burks has emerged as the clear favorite target for Arnold so far. He’s leading the Sooners in receptions and his 22 are more than the next three teammates combined. He’s also leading the team in receiving yards (169) and touchdowns (three). As such, he’s projected for a team-leading 59.5 receiving yards, per PrizePicks.

Squirrel White(Tennessee Athletics)

Receiving: 50.5 yards
Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

White has yet to find the end zone in 2024 and has only caught five passes, but he’s been taking chunks out of the defense at 21.6 yards per reception. As such, his PrizePicks projection for Week 4 against the Sooners is a healthy 50.5 yards and he’s also projected for 0.5 touchdowns, perhaps getting on the scoreboard the first time in 2024.

Rushing: 25.5 yards
Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

It’s been a slow start to 2024 for Sawchuk, who has just 35 yards on 16 carries in three games, a 2.2 yard per carry clip. But he’s still likely to get his share of looks for the Sooners and PrizePicks projects that he’ll nearly double his season rushing total, going for 25.5 yards and 0.5 touchdowns.

Receiving: 39.5 yards

Second on the Volunteers in receiving yards and first in catches, Brazzell is expected to continue his role as a featured target for Iamaleava. For Saturday, he’s projected to go for 39.5 receiving yards, per PrizePicks.

Receiving: 28.5 yards
Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

While he’s a way away from matching Burks’ usage, Sharp has emerged as the No. 2 target in the Sooners passing attack, catching 10 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown in three games. He’s expected to keep up his key role, as PrizePicks projects he’ll go for 28.5 receiving yards and 0.5 touchdowns.

Rushing/receiving TDs: 0.5

Anderson has yet to appear in a game in 2024 as he recovers from an injury, but appears on-track to make his season debut on Saturday. And while his total capacity in his return might not be entirely clear, he could certainly make an impact. And PrizePicks projects that Anderson will have 0.5 touchdowns on Saturday in his return to action.
