USA Today released list of country’s best fall foliage destinations, including one in MA

USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards just released its best of fall rankings, and one region in Massachusetts ranked among the best destinations for fall foliage.

The annual awards highlight the best in travel, food and lifestyle, and winners are chosen by a public voting poll after being nominated by industry experts.

In the 2024 best of fall awards, ranking fall attractions across the United States in a variety of categories, the Berkshires in western Massachusetts won eighth place for best fall foliage.

As a premiere region for mountainous beauty and outdoor attractions, the Berkshires region is ideal for a picturesque New England fall. Driving through towns like Clarksburg and Williamstown on the historic Mohawk Trail will give a great view of the area’s foliage, and the winding road to the peak of Mt. Greylock is sure to be filled with blazing red and orange hues.

For outdoor adventurers, the Berkshires region is filled with plenty of scenic state parks and forests perfect to wander, bike or hike through in the fall.

According to predictions from Old Farmer’s Almanac, foliage in Massachusetts is expected to peak in early October, making that the best time to visit the Berkshires for fall.
