Hoping to start Big Ten play on the right foot, Iowa (2-1) heads to Minnesota (2-1) for Saturday’s showdown inside Huntington Bank Stadium. NBC will televise the 6:30 p.m. contest.
Iowa got back on track last week with a 38-21 win over Troy, a game in which the Hawkeyes trailed at halftime but used a strong running game to put the Trojans away. Big plays surrendered in the secondary, though, created some rare concerns with Iowa’s defense.
Minnesota, meanwhile, has rebounded nicely after its Week 1 loss to North Carolina. Shutout victories over Rhode Island and Nevada followed in dominant fashion. The Golden Gophers are hunting consecutive wins over Iowa for the first time since 2010-11.
