Live theater buffs, it’s time to start flexing your big musical muscles in Delaware this fall season.
The First State will host multiple Broadway shows touring into town, plus posh local productions for off-Broadway fans and theater newcomers.
Here’s a diverse preview of some cool theater events you’ll want to consider.
Kinky Boots, Wilmington
The acclaimed musical “Kinky Boots” has plenty of sole and seductive tunes to keep audiences entertained, while promoting a message of acceptance. “Kinky Boots,” which holds six Tony Awards, comes from Grammy Award-winning pop legend Cyndi Lauper and four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.

Head Over Heels, Wilmington
The 1980s girl band The Go-Go’s provide a rocking soundtrack for the melodic comedy “Head Over Heels, The Musical.” This romp spotlights a royal family that desperately wants to avoid fulfilling the Oracle’s prophecy of destruction.

Fans of the late, great Tina Turner will see her comeback story unfold in this Broadway show, through a soundtrack of her iconic tunes. The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, who won 12 Grammys, will keep her legacy alive in “Tina — The Tina Turner Musical.”

When Veronica Sawyer is dying to become popular in high school, she’s surprisingly shown the ropes by three attractive and mean Heathers. Things start to look up until a mysterious teen rebel shows up and teaches her that being a nobody may feel like a death sentence, but it’s deadly to be a somebody in “Heathers: The Musical.”

Sweeney Todd, Rehoboth Beach

To take down the Queen Bee, Cady must risk getting stung herself.
