The week of September 8th is recognized nationally as National Suicide Prevention Week.
This is a week where we are reminded that no matter how difficult things may get, you don’t have to suffer alone. There is help available to all of us.

Fate is a funny thing. You never know when fate will step in and change something forever.
For New Jersey rocker, Jon Bon Jovi, it was a beautiful day in Nashville on Tuesday.
As the day was nearing its end, Jon and a crew were setting up for a photo shoot on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Tennessee.
The bridge crosses the Cumberland River in Nashville.
It was during this time that fate took over.

While setting up, Jon noticed a woman on the outer edge of the bridge.
The woman appeared to be distressed and looked like she was getting ready to jump.
Jon walked over and talked the woman back to safety.
First responders arrived and took the woman for help.

Incredibly, the whole incident was caught on the bridge’s surveillance camera.
The Nashville Metropolitan Police posted the scene on YouTube and lauded Bon Jovi as a hero, but YouTube removed the video, stating it “violated community standards.”
Those who have had the pleasure of coming in contact with Jon, know he’s one of the nicest and generous guys in the world of rock.

Jon and his wife Dorothea are active in the fight against hunger in New Jersey. The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation has helped feed thousands of people.
Police have not released any information about the woman involved.
