More than 3,000 homes and businesses in Middletown, Connecticut will be the beneficiaries of a recent investment made by GoNetspeed.
This week, GoNetspeed announced that construction on a network in Middletown has begun. The company revealed that the first customers are expected to be connected by October of 2024.
“Today, Middletown is one step closer to gaining access to another provider option,” said Tom Perrone, GoNetspeed’s COO. “With construction having officially commenced, Middletown will soon experience the transformative impact of high-speed fiber internet.”
When the project sees completion, Middletown will be one of 30 communities across Connecticut served by GoNetspeed’s services, the Spet. 17 announcement stated.
“As we begin our work, another Connecticut community will benefit from increased competition, faster speeds, improved customer service, and better pricing. We look forward to what lies ahead for Middletown,” Perrone said.
In total, GoNetspeed operates fiber networks throughout nine states: Maine, Alabama, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and West Virginia.
The ISP, one of the largest independent ISPs in the Eastern United States, has been expanding since their partnership with Oak Hill Capital in January 2021.
A summary of the company’s operations stated that GoNetspeed has been adding thousands of serviceable locations within their footprint in the years since.
