Oregon Ducks Commit Dakorien Moore Attempting to Flip 5-Star CB From Ohio State?

Oregon Ducks five-star receiver commit Dakorien Moore is doing his part on the recruiting trail before his college career has even begun.

In a since-expired Instagram story, Moore tagged Ohio State five-star cornerback commit Na’eem Offord directly, potentially hinting that he’s been in contact with him during the recruiting process in an attempt to get him to flip to the Ducks.

“(You know) where we are at with it twin,” Moore wrote.

Offord recently told Rivals that his recruitment is currently a “three-man race” between Oregon, Auburn and Ohio State. The Parker High School (Birmingham, AL) product made official visits to Auburn (May 31), Alabama (June 7), Eugune (June 14) and Ohio State (June 21) since committing to the Buckeyes back in February. Offord also received offers from the likes of Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, Texas, USC, Tennessee, Missouri, Nebraska, Florida State, Clemson, South Carolina and Texas A&M among many more.

Back in May, Offord denied reports on social media that his recruitment was “wide open,” but it’s clear things have changed over the summer.

If the Ducks can land Offord, he’d join a 2025 Oregon recruiting class that already features five-star talents like Moore and safety Tre McNutt along with four-stars like receiver Dallas Wilson, cornerback Dorian Brew, athletes Brandon FInney and Dierre Hill, linebacker Nasir Wyatt, offensive lineman Ziyare Addison, running back Jordan Davison, edge Matthew Johnson, offensive tackle Alai Kalaniuvalu, receiver Cooper Perry and quarterback Akili Smith Jr.

Prior to the start of this high school season, Offord had tallied 30 tackles, five interceptions, four pass breakups and one sack over the past two years.

As for Moore, his recruiting journey experiened its fair share of twists and turns as well before he committed to the Ducks on July 4.

At one time a LSU commit, Moore de-committed from the Tigers in May and reopened his recruitment. His final four included Texas.

As a Texas native and Duncanville (Dallas) product, the Longhorns were seen as the favorite for Moore leading up to his decision following what many fans felt was a successful official visit last month, though Oregon made an impressive late run at the star receiver. Moore brought his entire family for his OV with Texas and appeared to be right at home in Austin. However, the Ducks lured him away from his home state.

Last season for Duncanville, Moore had 71 catches for 1,523 yards and 18 touchdowns. In his career, he has 130 catches for 2,653 yards and 29 touchdowns in three total seasons.

Moore will watch on as the Ducks play their first-ever Big Ten Conference game against UCLA on Saturday, Sept. 28.
