Re “¡Viva México!” (Sept. 15): I thoroughly enjoyed the essays from three local families about Mexican Independence Day and what it means to them, especially Susana Franco’s article about the bravery, courage, sacrifice and pursuit of justice shown in Mexico’s pursuit of independence. I hope all Mexican citizens had a happy Independence Day and hope they and all of us accord the same sentiments to the people of Ukraine.
