Connecticut motorists pumped up over falling gas prices

The average across Connecticut dropping to $3.15 a gallon – that’s down nearly nine cents in just the past week.

Last year at this time, motorists were paying more than $3.80 a gallon.

At the Cumberland Farms on Main Street in Norwalk the member price is $2.99 a gallon, one of the lowest in Norwalk.

“It’s going down right now so it’s good for us,” said Nitn Bhesar from Norwalk.

Down the street at the Global station on Cross Street in Norwalk, the price for regular gas is $3.05 a gallon. Customers told News that they like what they see.

“It feels good…Hopefully the economy [can] bounce back with these elections and these lower gas prices are definitely a plus,” said Joseph Barr from Norwalk.

“It gives me more opportunity to plan weekends and travel – and I love it for my pocket,” said Kristen Strype from Fairfield.

The highest price for gas in the state was two years ago at almost $5 a gallon. A viewer reached out to News 12 Connecticut and said a gallon of regular at Best Value on Huntington Turnpike in Bridgeport is $2.89 a gallon for regular.
