Another week, another No. 1 and a classification that suddenly seems like it could have a very entertaining playoff.
Clearwater Central Catholic jumps up to the top spot in Class 1A after another dominant win against a playoff team — a 43-8 win against Sebring — and a surprising loss by Chaminade-Madonna. The Marauders were a unanimous selection at the No. 1 team.
This is the first time that Chaminade is not the No. 1 team in its class since the USA Today Florida Network made its debut in 2021. The Lions check in at No. 3 in Week 3.
Venice (Class 7A), Lakeland (5A), Plantation-American Heritage (4A), Cocoa (2A) and Hawthorne (Rural) were unanimous selections as the No. 1 teams in their respective classes.
Mandarin (6A) and Miami Central (3A) each received all but one first-place vote in their classes.
