Suspect in second Trump assassination attempt identified

Breaking NewsPhoto shows suspect in second Trump assassination attempt being apprehended

Fox News Digital has secured a photo of Ryan Wesley Routh moments after his arrest following his alleged attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump on Sunday.

Martin County Sheriff William Snyder confirmed the accuracy of the photo, taken as Routh was arrested.

Routh was allegedly armed with an AK-47 outside Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while Trump was playing the fifth hole.

Routh, who fled after being shot at by Secret Service agents, was arrested in neighboring Martin County, Snyder said.

Snyder added that Routh was “detached and unbothered” when he was pulled over. He said Routh never questioned why he was being detained.

A Secret Service agent walking on the golf course a hole ahead of where Trump was playing spotted the rifle sticking through a chain-link fence and immediately opened fire, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said during a press conference.

Routh was 300 to 500 yards away from Trump, authorities said.

Authorities said he had two backpacks, ceramic plates and a GoPro camera, which were recovered by authorities.

The AK-47 was also recovered by authorities.

It was the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in nearly two months
