The USA beat Germany 3-1 in a shootout to move into the U-20 Women’s World Cup semifinals after a comeback for the ages.

Germany, which scored on a 61st-minute penalty kick, went up 2-0 in the first minute of stoppage time. But Jordynn Dudley, who scored the winner in the 3-2 quarterfinal overtime victory over Mexico, scored in the 8th-minute of stoppage time. Less than 90 seconds later, Ally Sentnor scored to send the game into overtime.

Sentnor, Leah Klenke and Riley Jackson converted their spot kicks. U.S. goalkeeper Teagan Wy saved Germany’s third attempt, by Alara Sehitler, after its first two shooters struck wide and off the post.
