The world is the happiest it has been since COVID-19, new report shows
The world is experiencing its highest levels of happiness since the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Gallup’s Global Emotions Report for 2024.

The Hawkeye state is widely known for its Iowa nice culture, but how happy are Iowans?
WalletHub, a personal finance company, compared 50 states to determine the happiest state based on 30 indicators of happiness. Some included emotional and physical well-being, work environment and community as well as environment were all considered while determining the happiest states.
How happy are Iowans?
People in Iowa are happier than most residents of other states. Iowa was the 19th happiest state in the country, followed by Georgia. Neighboring Kansas and Illinois beat Iowa.
A score of one is the happiest rating while a 25 is the average.
Iowa ranked 11th out of all states for the percentage of adults who are depressed. Iowa made it in the top ten states for the lowest divorce rates, ranking eighth. Iowa didn’t do as well for the number of adults that feel active and productive, placing 26th.
