In today’s world, getting an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is not enough to set a young adult on the right path to a successful professional life after 15-plus years in the education system.
Preparing students for future professional and financial success should be the goal of colleges and universities. However, some educational institutions are more interested in making money than providing the services expected of them by parents and young adults.
The Wall Street Journal and researchers at College Pulse collaborated on a new study to find out which Colleges and Universities set up their graduates for the most future financial and professional success.
As a result, they created a ranking of the Best Colleges in the United States and scored every educational institution on a scale of 1 to 100 based on the following criteria:
-Students’ Overall Satisfaction and Experience
-Learning Environment on Campus
-Best Salaries for Recent Graduates
-Best Value of Education
-Graduates’ Social Mobility
What New Jersey Schools Landed Highest In The Rankings?
According to the WSJ and College Pulse Rankings, six New Jersey educational institutions landed in the Top 200 of their 500 Best Colleges in the U.S. In fact, one university located in the Garden State is ranked as the number one best college in the United States.
Princeton University received a score of 92.3 thanks to the highest graduation rate of any of the 500 colleges in the rankings. Princeton also received high scores for their alumni network and internships.
The only other NJ college or university that landed inside the Top 100 was the College of New Jersey with a score of 76.7.
The other four schools ranked in the Top 200 are Montclair State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rutgers University, and the Stevens Institute of Technology.
Here are all the New Jersey Colleges and Universities that made the WSJ 500 Best Colleges In The United States:
1. Princeton University (Number One overall – 92.3 score)
2. College of New Jersey (94th overall – 76.7 score)
3. Montclair State University (106th overall – 75.9 score)
4. New Jersey Institute of Technology (114th overall – 75.3 score)
5. Rutgers University (124th overall – 74.7 score)
6. Stevens Institute of Technology (127th overall – 74.6 score)
7. Stockton University (237th overall – 63.9 score)
8. Seton Hall University (285th overall – 59.9 score)
9. Rowan University (338th overall – 55 score)
On the opposite end of the spectrum, some of New Jersey’s public schools are doing an extreme disservice to their students. These kindergartens through 12th grade educational institutions made the list of the worst public schools in New Jersey:

These are the 30 lowest-ranking public and charter schools in New Jersey based on the 2022-23 summative ratings provided by the state Department of Education’s annual NJ School Performance Report. The schools are listed in descending order, with the lowest rating being zero.
