One of the top rushers in college football will be featured when Dylan Sampson and the Tennessee Volunteers (2-0) take on the Kent State Golden Flashes (0-2) on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
The Volunteers head into the matchup after winning 51-10 over the North Carolina State Wolfpack in their last game on Sept. 7. Their last time out, the Golden Flashes fell to the St. Francis (PA) Red Flash 23-17. Against the Wolfpack, Nico Iamaleava led the Vols with 211 yards on 16-of-23 passing (69.6%) for two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also carried the ball eight times for 65 yards and one rushing touchdown. Sampson ran for 132 yards on 20 carries (6.6 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, adding three receptions for 37 yards. Squirrel White had two receptions for 67 yards (33.5 per catch) against the Wolfpack. Devin Kargman went 22-for-38 with 193 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Golden Flashes against the Red Flash. Ky Thomas put together an 11-carry, 39-yard game (3.5 yards per attempt), while tacking on four receptions for 26 yards . Luke Floriea picked up 92 yards through the air after six catches (on eight targets), with one touchdown.
