The Oklahoma Sooners are making a habit of winning ugly at times and they did it again on Saturday afternoon in their 34-19 win over Tulane.
After jumping out to a 21-0 lead in the first half, Tulane scratched back with back-to-back touchdowns before and after halftime and took a Jackson Arnold interception to the house to make it 24-19 in the fourth quarter.
But after allowing the second Tulane touchdown, the Sooners defense took over and didn’t allow another score the rest of the way, forcing an interception, turnover on downs, and a strip-sack, fumble recovery on the Green Wave’s final offensive possession.
It would have been nice for the Sooners to pull away after going up three touchdowns, but that wasn’t in the cards against a team that took Kansas State to the brink the week before.
The Oklahoma Sooners have things to improve upon this week as they get ready to host the Tennessee Volunteers, but they’re showing signs of improvement from the team that survived Houston a week ago.
As we do after every game, here’s how social media reacted to the Oklahoma Sooners 34-19 win.
It’s a weird feeling
I haven’t felt this comfortable with an Oklahoma defense in a long long time.

What the heck happened?
OU gets a delay of game on a field goal try……….
And now Venables is opting to punt it. That is just unacceptable.

It’s time
Luke Elzinga punter of the year campaign starts when…?

Defense was Great today
OU’s defense allowed a meager 3.9 yards per play against Tulane.
Tulane came in averaging 7.9 ypp (13th in the nation).

Interesting theory
I figured it out. Jackson Arnold grow a full beard he’s gonna win the Heisman. It’s his mustache is the problem 😂😂😂

Got better
Overall, I feel significantly better today than I did a week ago. We’ve begged for the running game to get going for 3 weeks and now OU twitter is in shambles bc it didn’t look exactly how we thought it would. @OUInsider @LockedOnSooners @OK_Breakdown

Questionable officiating to say the least
Heavyweight Clash
Oklahoma’s defense continues to bail the team out this season.
Tennessee’s offense vs. the Sooner defense is going to be one hell of a matchup.

They’ve got something going
