5 takeaways from the Oklahoma Sooners win over Tulane

The biggest topic around Oklahoma’s offensive woes has centered on the health, or lack thereof, of the Sooners offensive line. It hasn’t really improved healthwise but a few guys like Jake Taylor and Branson Hickman may be closer than we think.

With both out, Oklahoma had to find a winning combination. Today’s combination of Jacob Sexton, Heath Ozaeta, Joshua Bates, Febechi Nwaiwu, and Michael Tarquin got it done. They weren’t perfect.

Some bad penalties really sucked the life out of drives, and missed assignments also killed the offense’s momentum.

However, this combination helped move people in the run game and at pivotal moments they gave Arnold time to operate. With two of their better guys possibly nearing a return, maybe OU is finding its depth at the right time.
