Andrew Glass could set Kent State career field goal record versus Vols

Kent State kicker Andrew Glass enters Saturday’s contest at No. 9 Tennessee (2-0) with an opportunity to become the Golden Flashes’ all time leader for made field goals in program history.

The 5-foot-10, 172-pound senior is one field goal shy of tying Freddy Cortez’s career record (56) for the Kent State football program.

Cortez played for Kent State from 2009-12. He converted 56-of-78 field goal attempts and 131-of-138 extra point attempts, totaling 299 career points. Cortez’s longest field goal was 49 yards in 2011.

Glass enters Week 3 against the Vols having converted 55-of-74 field goal attempts and 102-of-103 extra point attempts during his Kent State career. He has totaled 267 points and recorded a career long field goal of 50 yards in 2022.

Glass’ only missed extra point was at Akron last season.

Kickoff between the Vols and Golden Flashes (0-2) is slated for 7:45 p.m. EDT and will be televised by SEC Network at Neyland Stadium.
