PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — “WaterFire: A Salute to Rhode Island Educators” is the title of the next full lighting on Saturday, Sept. 21, in Providence.
The lighting is funded in part by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) and will kick off with a ceremony and torch procession at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Park. When the sun sets at 6:40 p.m., nearly 90 District Teachers of the Year educators will take part in the lighting ceremony.

WaterFire said there will also be a Luminaria display in Memorial Park for educators to make wishes and dedicate lanterns.
Vendors will set up shop from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Canal Street. The fires will remain lit until 11 p.m.
