The 65-year-old has been on the run for nearly three years, and with a hefty ‘I owe you,’ to the U.S. government, agents say.
On January 11, 2021, the United States Court for the District of Maryland signed off on a warrant for the arrest of Williams after he failed to adhere to the terms of his post-supervised release, court records confirm.
Williams spent nearly a decade behind bars after he pleaded guilty in 2013 to Conspiracy to Interfere with Interstate Commerce by Robbery, Interference with Interstate Commerce by Robbery and Use and Carry of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, on June 13, 2012, Williams and a co-conspirator robbed a Loomis Armored Truck as couriers were making a delivery to a Navy Federal Credit Union in Rockville, Maryland.
Investigators detailed that Williams and his co-conspirator approached the couriers with a semi-automatic weapon as they were unloading hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash from the armored truck.
Williams was arrested in July 2012 and entered into a plea agreement the following year.
A judge sentenced Williams to 112 months – or nine years, four months – in prison, followed by three years supervised release.
Williams was also ordered to pay monthly restitution payments for the $220,000 that was stolen in the heist, according to investigators.
In 2021 investigators said Williams failed to comply with the terms of his probation and has also since failed to keep up with his monthly required payments.
Williams has a criminal history that dates back to the mid-1980s when court records show he was found guilty of assault and battery in Maryland.
A couple of years later records show he racked up another conviction, for felony theft.
Williams’ criminal ways continued into the 1990s with a 1992 arrest for transporting drugs across interstate lines, and possession with the intent to manufacture and distribute charges, according to court records.
Then, in 1993, online records show he was found guilty of assault on a corrections employee.
Williams is now back on the run, and his whereabouts are unknown, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Williams stands at about 6’0” and weighs approximately 200 lbs.
Investigators detail Williams has a scar above his left eye.
Williams also goes by the following aliases, including Ricky Houser, Aaron Thomas, and Steve Carr.
The U.S. Marshals Service warns Williams is known to have violent tendencies.
