A video has gone viral on showing President Joe Biden rubbing elbows with a supporter of Donald Trump before eventually putting on his MAGA hat.
Yesterday, the president caused a stir on social media after a photo of him wearing a Trump hat went viral on social media. The incident occurred while Biden was visiting firefighters in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at an event meant to commemorate where United Flight 93 crashed.
On Wednesday, the White House released a statement after the image of Biden wearing the hat went viral, claiming he wore it as a “gesture” of “bipartisan unity.”
“At the Shanksville Fire Station, President Joe Biden spoke about the country’s bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates wrote to his followers on X. “As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter who then said that in the same spirit, POTUS should put on his Trump cap. He briefly wore it.”

Biden offers the man a hat with the presidential seal on it and says he would autograph the item. After the two exchange some friendly words, Biden hands the man the signed cap before taking his Trump hat and wearing it.
