You would think that UNLV makes obvious sense for the Pac-12. It is located in Las Vegas, where Pac-12 tournaments and championship games have been held. Las Vegas is a growing sports city, having recently entered the NFL and NHL markets with the NBA and MLB entering the conversation.
We have to ask why the Pac-12 invited four Mountain West schools with UNLV not being part of the mix. Is there a holdup in negotiations, or is the Pac-12 simply focused on other schools? It will be very, very interesting to learn what might be going on relative to the Pac-12 and UNLV, and why the two parties haven’t already arrived at a deal.
