A man wanted in a Monroe County shooting has been taken into custody after he was shot in a nightclub in Utah.
Matthew Herberto Morales, 30, was identified as the suspect in the shooting at 10:54 p.m. May 24, at My Place Bar & Grill, 5138 Milford Road, Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County.
Henry Koroma, 35, of Scranton was struck by gunfire and later died at Lehigh Valley Pocono Medical Center. This incident was investigated by the Troop N Major Case Team along with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
State police said Wednesday that Salt Lake City Police responded to a shooting outside a nightclub at 12:55 p.m. Aug. 10.
They found Morales, who had eight gunshot wounds. He was transported to University of Utah Hospital in critical condition, where he underwent surgery. He was positively identified and currently remains hospitalized and in custody of the United States Marshals Service, pending release and extradition to Pennsylvania.
