The Jets (0-1) take the field for the second time as they head to Tennessee to take on the Titans (0-1) in Week 2 of the NFL season.
It was rough 2024 debut for the Jets on Monday night, with QB Aaron Rodgers clearly showing some rust in his first full game in 610 days, and the defense unable to get off the field in conceding eight consecutive scoring drives in a 32-19 loss to reigning NFC champion 49ers.
It’ll be a short week for the Jets as they play a second straight game on the road (first of three times they’ll do so this season).
On the other sideline, the Titans blew a 17-0 first half lead and didn’t allow an offensive touchdown but still lost, 24-17, to No. 1 overall pick QB Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.

Can the Jets earn their first victory of the season, or will they fall to 0-2 with a must-win matchup in their home opener versus the Patriots in Week 3 in another short week? Here are our staff predictions for Jets vs. Titans:
Art Stapleton
The pick: Jets 31, Titans 10
Here’s why: Breece Hall is going to feel like he’s running against seven or eight defenders and not the full defensively complement of 11 that he faced against San Francisco. You know Aaron Rodgers wants to put on a show, and the defense is going to be angry after letting the 49ers run all over them. San Francisco is a Super Bowl contender for a reason. The Titans are not.
Vincent Mercogliano
The pick: Jets 30, Titans 16
Here’s why: There were signs of life from Aaron Rodgers and the offense in Monday’s lopsided loss in San Fran, but it’s hard to keep pace with one of the best teams in the NFL when you barely have the ball. The Jets defense was wholly disappointing, particularly up front, but the good news is they won’t see a team as dominant as the 49ers for the rest of the regular season. The schedule will ease up the next few weeks and allow them to work out the kinks, beginning Sunday afternoon in Nashville.
Bert Bainbridge
The pick: Jets 24, Titans 13
Here’s why: Tennessee miraculously found a way to lose in Week 1 despite being up three scores. After facing the one of the best teams in the NFL in the 49ers, Aaron Rodgers and Co. should have a much easier time maintaining and moving the ball throughout the game to get the Jets their first win of the season as the defense puts up a much better performance versus QB Will Levis and the Titans.
Steve Edelson
The pick: Jets 31, Titans 17
Here’s why: That was a really tough opening assignment, having to go cross-country to face the 49ers in primetime. This is a softer spot, and one where Aaron Rogers and the Jets’ offense can get its footing. And look for the defense to step its game up as well.
Bob Jordan
The pick: Titans 20, Jets 10
Here’s why: The Titans lost their opener but did lead 17-0 against the Bears – proof they can put together a sustained, albeit short, stretch of decent football, something the Jets were unable to do in Week 1.
Brian Marron
The pick: Jets 23, Titans 6
Here’s why: The offense is clearly a work in the progress for the Jets, while the 49ers just embarrassed the defense. The latter unit seems like a strong bet to get back to its dominant ways against a turnover machine in Will Levis, while there should be enough improvement from Aaron Rodgers and crew to get a comfortable win.
Chris Iseman
The pick: Jets 24, Titans 10
Here’s why: I expect the defense to clean up the issues that it showed in the opener and that Aaron Rodgers and the offense will have a better day. This is a much easier opponent than the 49ers.
Dave Rivera
The pick: Jets 27, Titans 17
Here’s why: The Jets got as tough a Week 1 matchup as anyone in the NFL, having to head to San Francisco on a Monday night. While they didn’t look as sharp as they need to be, they probably learned a lesson or two on what it will take to be a playoff team. They’ll turn it around this weekend.
