ESPN loudmouth: ‘If Donald Trump wasn’t in trouble, he sure is now’

Add ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith to the list of people who think Kamala Harris beat Donald Trump in Tuesday night’s presidential debate.

After Taylor Swift took to social media to endorse vice president Harris, Smith himself went on X to react to the debate and present his game plan for Trump, the former president.

“Talk about gaining momentum. ⁦@taylorswift13⁩ timed this perfectly, revealing her endorsement right after the debate. Nearly 2 million likes in 21 min,” Smith wrote. “If ⁦@DonaldTrump⁩ wasn’t in trouble, he sure is now. He should certainly want a 2nd debate,

……but should @KamalaHarris want to give him one? She clearly won the debate, and has him reeling! Who knows! We shall see!”

Immediately following Tuesday’s debate, the Harris campaign indicated it would be on for a second one — a proposal Trump doesn’t seem to be a fan of. “It’s because she lost … if you won the debate, I start to think maybe I shouldn’t do it. Why should I do another debate?” he said on Fox News.

Perhaps Trump realizes it’s riskier for him to debate again in front of America after such lies he spun Tuesday that women are killing babies and immigrants are kidnapping and eating pets — which is to say little of the depth of the debate and the actual plans if they were to become president, areas for which Harris addressed more fully than the former president.

Harris leads Trump by three points (48-45%) in the latest On Point/Red Eagle Politics/SoCal Strategies National Poll of 719 likely voters released on Wednesday morning — a Republican-sponsored survey.

Among those who watched the debate, 53% say Harris won, while just 34% say Trump won, the poll said.

The poll contradicts a New York Times/Siena College survey that gave Trump a one-point national lead — after a series of polls had shown Harris leading nationally and tied or ahead in nearly every swing state.
