Challenger Learning Center of Maine to host yard sale, bottle drive

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – The Challenger Learning Center of Maine is getting ready for some renovations over the winter.

To do so, they need to make some room, which is why they are hosting a yard sale.

They’ll have some typical yard sale items such as furniture and older electronics.

However, they’ll also have some more niche finds such as telescopes, a rocket-shaped gum ball machine, and science kits.

The two-day sale begins Thursday at nine.

“September is a quieter month for us. We’re really trying to use it to clean up things that have accumulated because we’ve been here twenty years. So, we’ve collected all our items and in doing so we thought, ‘Man, some of this is really great stuff, unique stuff.’ So, we thought we’re going to have a fundraising yard sale and open it up to the community,” said Kristen Hibbard, Executive Director, Challenger Learning Center of Maine.

A bottle drive is also being held during the yard sale.

Proceeds from both will support The Challenger Learning Center’s work as a non-profit.
