Harris-Trump debate rules set and agreed upon

The ground rules of the Harris-Trump debate have been laid out.

Former President Donald Trump is set to make a visit out to one southern Arizona city on Thursday.

The Republican presidential nominee and former president is set to hit the stage in Tucson, over 100 miles south of Phoenix, to make remarks about “our struggling economy and the rising cost of housing,” according to reporting by The Arizona Republic, part of the USA TODAY Network.

The visit comes days after the first presidential debate of the election season between Harris and Trump, which takes place Tuesday night at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA TODAY reported.

“President Trump will highlight Kamala Harris’ devastating policies that have wreaked havoc on Arizonans and the many reasons Hispanic voters are flocking to the Republican Party,” according to a statement from the Trump campaign obtained by the Republic.

Thursday’s visit isn’t the first time Trump has visited the state in 2024, making a stop in Glendale for a rally and a tour of the Arizona-Mexico border last month. Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, was also in town for a two-day campaign event last week, the Republic reported.

Here’s what to know about Trump’s visit to Tucson.

Trump is set to host a speaking engagement at The Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, an event venue located in downtown Tucson. The Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, formerly known as the Tucson Music Hall, is located at 260 S. Church Ave.

The event is scheduled to start at 2 p.m., but doors will open at 11 a.m., according to the event website.

Vice President Kamala Harris has also sent top campaign members to Arizona recently. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, her running mate, was in Arizona on Tuesday ahead of the presidential debate. Doug Emhoff, the second gentleman, will also be in Tucson on Thursday, the same day as Trump.

Emhoff will be there “as part of the campaign’s New Way Forward battleground tour to mobilize support, drive enthusiasm, and reach the voters who will decide this election as we approach the closing weeks of the campaign, according to the Republic.
