It’s that time of year when we eat crazy food, scream during thrilling rides and sing along to our favorite bands.
The Arizona State Fair is almost here, and it’s celebrating 140 years in 2024. Opening on Friday, Sept. 20, and running through Sunday, Oct. 27, the fair expects people all over the state to come.
And who doesn’t like a good deal on a good time? You can save on admission with Arizona State Fair deals and discounts for veterans, kids and other visitors. To take advantage of these offers, purchase your admission tickets online. General admission is $15 for ages 8 and up, while children 7 and younger get in free.

Arizona State Fair 2024 wristbands, discounts and ticket deals
Feel Good Fridays: Bring 10 nonperishable food items to donate to St. Mary’s Food Bank and receive one free admission. Offer is good every Friday during the fair, excluding opening day, Sept. 22. Bottled water, soda, all baby food, seasoning packets, ramen noodles and any items in glass containers will not be accepted.
When to get the deal: Noon-6 p.m. Fridays, Sept. 29 and Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27.
Taste of the Fair: Try a little bit of everything the state fair food vendors have to offer. This deal allows you to savor a range of treats for just $3 per item.
When to get the deal: Noon-6 p.m. Fridays, Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Unlimited ride wristbands: On Thursdays, ride all the rides at the fair with the on-site purchase of a wristband for $50. Wristbands are sold between noon and 6 p.m. and honored for use until 8 p.m.
When to get the deal: Thursdays, Sept. 26, and Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24.
Read and Ride: This annual program that combines education and fair fun is back for 2024. Kids can read a book and earn a free ride. Go to azstatefair.com/readandride for complete details.
When to get the deal: Every day of the fair.
Armed Forces Day: Veterans and active-duty service members can get up to four free tickets to the Arizona State Fair. You can get tickets in advance through etix.com.
When to get the deal: Noon-6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11.
