Offering familiar favorites and new attractions, the 2023 Oklahoma State Fair continues through Sept. 24 at the OKC Fairgrounds.

The 2024 Oklahoma State Fair is almost here.
And thanks to the wide variety of discounts available, people can save a fair amount of money on a trip to the fair, especially if they buy tickets and ride wristbands in advance and go on a weekday instead of on a weekend.
One of the state’s largest annual events, the Oklahoma State Fair is Sept. 12-22 at the OKC Fairgrounds, 3001 General Pershing Blvd.
Here’s how much it’ll cost you to get into the fair, ride the rides and how you can potentially save money on all the fun:
How much does it cost to get into the 2024 Oklahoma State Fair?
For the 2024 Oklahoma State Fair, regular outside gate admission is $16 for adults and children 12 and older; $10 for children 6 to 11; and free for children 5 and younger.
During the fair, outside gate admission tickets are available at the ticket booths outside each gate. Same day re-entry is allowed with a ticket stub and a handstamp from the ticket takers. Any purchases made using a credit card will have a surcharge added.
The Oklahoma State Fair has a new attendance policy for children and teenagers: All minors should be supervised by a responsible adult, who is required to remain on the OKC Fairgrounds while underage fairgoers are in attendance. After 5 p.m., fairgoers younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or chaperone 25 years of age or older. Chaperones may accompany as many as five minors. ID may be required, and minors in violation of the policy are subject to removal.
How can fairgoers save on outside gate admission?
Before the fair’s Sept. 12 opening day, fairgoers can save when they purchase outside gate admission tickets in person at the OKC Fairgrounds Gate 9 Box Office, online or by phone. Discount gate admission tickets also are available in advance at Oklahoma City area OnCue stores.
Advance outside gate admission is $12 for adults and children 12 and older and $7.50 for children ages 6 to 11. Admission is free for children 5 and younger. Advance prices are good through Sept. 11.
Season passes, which provide once daily admission all 11 days of the fair for one person, are $40 and only available online.
To buy tickets, go to the OKC Fairgrounds Gate 9 Box Office, call 405-948-6800 or go to https://okstatefair.com.
How much are carnival armbands and midway rides at this year’s fair?
About 60 different rides make up this year’s state fair midway, which has transitioned from paper ride tickets to reloadable cards with ride credits that are available at carnival ticket kiosks. Each individual card has a $1 activation fee. Fairgoers can buy individual credits in groups of five, or save when they buy 30 or 50 credits at a time. The credits placed on the reloadable cards are good for the entire run of the fair.
Single ride credits are five credits for $7; 30 ride credits for $35; and 50 ride credits for $50.
All rides require either credits or unlimited carnival armbands to ride. Rides take between four and six credits.
Available at the carnival ticket booths, armbands are $35 for Monday through Wednesday, $25 for Tinker Federal Credit Union Thrifty Thursdays (Sept. 12 and 19) and $50 for Friday through Sunday. Each armband has a $1 activation fee. They don’t include outside gate admission to the fair.
Although armbands are often a better deal for people who want to ride multiple rides, they aren’t for everyone. Armbands are not recommended for children shorter than 36 inches, since there are a limited number of rides they can ride.
People who are shorter than 48 inches — and parents of children shorter than 48 inches — should check the ride requirements online before buying armbands. Several rides require children between 42 and 48 inches tall to be accompanied by an adult.
No refunds will be given on armbands, even due to inclement weather. Upgrades from a weekday to a weekend armband can’t be accommodated, either.
Riders who want priority boarding can buy a Fast Lane Pass at any carnival ticket booth or kiosk, although quantities may be limited daily. Fast Lane Passes are $15 for Monday through Thursday and $25 for Friday through Sunday.
Separate tickets are required for the Sky Eye Wheel, billed as North America’s largest traveling Ferris wheel. Each ride on the Sky Eye Wheel is $7.
How much can fairgoers save with advance carnival armbands?
Fairgoers eager to hit the rides can save by buying carnival armbands in advance at the Gate 9 Box Office, online or by calling 405-948-6800.
Advance carnival armband prices are $25 for Monday through Thursday at the fair and $40 for Friday through Sunday.
Each armband still has a $1 activation fee. Advance prices are good through Sept. 11.
Buying in advance also lets fairgoers skip the line at the carnival ticket booths and redeem their voucher for their actual carnival armband once they arrive at the fairgrounds. (Each person who will use a carnival armband must be present at the redemption center for the carnival agent to put on the armband.)
Advance $4 tickets also are available for the Sky Eye Wheel.
How much are advance tickets to Disney on Ice and the Hoofs & Horns Spectacular?
Families eager to see Disney on Ice, or rodeo fans hyped to catch the action at the Hoof & Horns Spectacular, can save if they buy tickets in advance. Tickets purchased to those attractions on or before Sept. 11 include outside gate admission, a savings of as much $15 per person.
Featuring more than 50 Disney movie characters, “Disney on Ice presents Magic in the Stars” is skating into Jim Norick Arena for performances Sept. 12-16 during the 2024 Oklahoma State Fair. Ticket prices range from $20 to $70. All children 2 and older need a ticket for their own seat; children younger than 2 are admitted free but must sit in the lap of a paying customer.
For the second year, the Hoof & Horns Spectacular will bring bucking broncs and freestyle bullfighting to the Oklahoma State Fair at 7 p.m. Sept. 20-21. Devised by the famed Beutler family of Elk City, the new event was introduced in 2023 to replace the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Xtreme Bulls & Broncs previously offered at the fair.
Hoofs & Horns ticket prices range from $15 to $30. All children 2 and older need a ticket for their own seat; children younger than 2 are admitted free but must sit in the lap of a paying patron.
