This Mainer decided to elope in one of the most picturesque places in Maine.
Just because you elope, doesn’t mean you can’t get dressed and do it up. You might remember the bride as she was the co-host of ‘The Q Morning Show with Lori, Jeff, and Brittany’. No, Jeff didn’t elope – Brittany did to Dan and it was really lovely. How do I know that? Because I officiated the wedding.
Wait, Brittany Rose got married in Cape Elizabeth, Maine?
Yes! Brittany left the ‘Q Morning Show With Lori, Jeff, and Brittany’ a couple of years ago to spread her wings and experience. She landed a perfect job for her at the alternative station 105.7 ‘The Point’, in St. Louis. She’s been killing it since landing there.

Why elope in Cape Elizabeth, Maine?
There were some scheduling issues and the best way to avoid paying tens of if not hundreds of thousands of dollars for a wedding is to elope. Weddings are out of control with costs. Brittany’s gorgeous dress cost her only a couple of hundred dollars searching high and low for the perfect deal. She looked gorgeous and both of them were not nervous at all. I meanwhile, was a wreck!

As I went through the brief ceremony, I noticed a bit of a crowd gathering. It was hard to mistake what was going on since Brittany’s dress was spectacular and with super ‘I’m getting married’ vibes. When I pronounced them married (not husband and wife, that’s so 2000s) and said they could kiss, the small gathering erupted in applause!

Ceremonies are whatever you want them to be, but there is a ‘typical’ outline. The welcome, the vows, the ring exchange, and the pronouncement are the basic steps. As we were preparing to start Brittany turned to me with both rings in hand and asked if I had pockets. I said,
I’m a lesbian. Of course, I have pockets.
Truth be told, I was simply stating a fact. But Brittany, Dan, Julia (the witness) and Cassie the photographer all busted a gut over that. I was glad to provide a little levity.
