Last season, the Boston Celtics won 64 games on their way to winning the 2024 NBA Championship. Can the Oklahoma City Thunder win 60 games in a talented NBA Western Conference, setting themselves up for a similar destiny? The ask is not all that far-fetched given that OKC did manage to win 57 games last season in a similarly crowded West race, and the additions of 3-and-D specialist Alex Caruso and big man Isaiah Hartenstein ought to add at least a win or two to their totals from last season.
But what would need to happen to cross that 60-game threshold for the Thunder this season? Did the league give Oklahoma City a favorable schedule to make it happen? And how about health, always a factor in such outcomes but perhaps less of a concern given the Thunder’s relative youth as a ball club.
The hosts of the “Hardwood Knocks” podcast, Dan Favale and Grant Hughes, took a closer look at such a prospect on a recent episode of their show. Check it out below!
