After a 56-0 dismantling of Western Michigan on Saturday, Ohio State stood pat at No. 2 in the Coaches Poll but fell to No. 3 in the AP Poll as Texas leaped the Buckeyes after its 31-12 over Michigan at the Big House.
Georgia remained the top dog in both polls, while the Buckeyes, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Alabama and No. 5 Ole Miss rounded out the top five in the Coaches Poll. In addition to the Buckeyes, the Big Ten was represented by No. 6 Oregon, No. 8 Penn State, No. 11 USC, No. 16 Michigan, No. 22 Washington and No. 24 Nebraska, while Iowa fell out of the poll after a last-second loss to rival Iowa State.

Outside of Texas’ rise to No. 2, the top five mirrored the Coaches Poll. No. 8 Penn State was the second-highest ranked Big Ten squad as No. 9 Oregon fell two spots after a last-second win over Boise State. No. 11 USC, No. 17 Michigan and No. 23 Nebraska rounded out the Big Ten’s representatives in the poll.
Notre Dame endured the largest fall in the poll, dropping 13 spots to No. 18 after a stunning home loss to Northern Illinois, who entered the AP Poll at No. 25.
