Most Florida Residents Back Amendment 4 Ahead of November

In Florida, Amendment 4, also known as the Right to Abortion Initiative, is on the ballot this November.

Should the measure receive at least 60% of the vote, Florida’s state constitution will be updated to permit abortion access before fetal viability. Likewise, the success of Amendment 4 would engender an automatic dissolution of Florida’s current six week abortion ban.

Across the state, Republicans like Gov. Ron DeSantis are urging residents to vote no on the ballot initiative. Democrats, on the other hand, continue rallying behind Amendment 4, branding GOP leaders as too extreme on abortion.

Despite Republicans having a massive voter registration advantage over Democrats in the Sunshine State, recent polling shows most Floridians favor the Right to Abortion Initiative.

New findings on support for Amendment 4

A joint study conducted by Emerson College Polling and The Hill confirms that 55% of likely voters in Florida plan to vote for Amendment 4. This is just shy of the necessary 60% to bring about a constitutional amendment, something Republicans have been pointing out.
