The fan base of No. 10 Michigan had its concerns following last week’s season-opening 30-10 win over Fresno State, and for good reason, as the Wolverines showed deficiencies on both offense and defense.
Given that, it’s reasonable to assume that those worries have only grown after the lopsided defeat at Michigan Stadium at the hands of the No. 3 Texas on Saturday.
The 31-12 loss to Texas marked Michigan’s first home defeat since the 2019 season finale against Ohio State.
On offense, Michigan quarterback Davis Warren, making his second start, struggled and threw two interceptions. As for the defense, they had major issues, allowing 389 yards of total offense. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers accounted for 246 of those yards through the air, along with three touchdowns. Colston Loveland was the lone bright spot for the Wolverines on Saturday, pulling in eight passes for 70 yards.
