Discover Boating, an online resource for all things boating, ranked the Top 10 Fall Boating Destinations, and Pennsylvania’s Nockamixon State Park in Upper Bucks County made the list as one of five on the East Coast, including four in the Northeast.

“Taking in fall foliage sights is always a fun activity, but leaf peeping from the water takes it to a whole new level,” read a news release. ” … You don’t need to own a boat to participate ― there are plenty of affordable options whether you rent, share or belong to a boat club.”

“This 5,286-acre Nockamixon State Park in Bucks County makes a great day trip to take in fall colors. The 1,450-acre lake is popular with anglers and sailors alike, and boating novices can take a narrated tour on a pontoon boat. The park maintains a marina with boat rentals and three other boat-launch areas, so there are plenty of places to get on the water and be dazzled by nature’s fireworks.”

Lake Nockamixon fall foliage in Bucks County
Here’s some additional information about getting out on the beautiful water of Lake Nockamixon provided on the state website. The lake has five public launching areas and the state says, “the marina and Tohickon launch ramps are popular with enthusiasts of sailboats, catamarans and windsurfing. Three Mile Run and Haycock launch facilities are favored for motorboats, kayaks and inflatable watercraft, the sites reads. Facilities are open 24 hours-a-day and the marina has space for up to 648 boats, but there is usually a waiting list for these spots.
