Crans Montana, Matt Wallace storms into lead

The golfers of the DP World Tour continue to battle it out in the usual weekend event. We have in fact reached the end of the second round of the Omega European Masters (prize money 2.5 million euros). The event born in the distant 1923 and known until 1992 with the name of Swiss Open, sees Matt Wallace in command.

The Englishman places a superb round of -8 bogey free to hoist himself to an overall score of -14 (126 strokes).

Dp, results

Wallace boasts a 4-point margin over his compatriot Alex Fitzpatrick, followed by another Englishman Jordan Smith and the Swede Henrik Norlander.

-8 and fifth position for the trio composed of the Spaniard Alfredo Garcia-Herredia, the German Nicolai von Dellingshausen and the Englishman Andrew Johnston. British golfers still in the spotlight with Eddie Pepperell eighth at -7 in the company of the Australian Jason Scrivener.

On the par 70 course of the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana (Switzerland), the top ten in tenth place with a score of -6 are the Scots Richie Ramsey and Connor Syme, the Japanese Rikuya Hoshino, the Swiss Cedric Gugler, the South African Casey Jarvis, the Danish Rasmus Hojgaard, the Swedish Alexander Bjork and finally Guido Migliozzi.

The Venetian golfer recovers 28 positions thanks to today’s solid -4. Andrea Pavan and Edoardo Molinari also promoted to the decisive rounds. For both a score of -4 and 25th provisional position. Francesco Laporta is 33rd with -3, while the tournament ends here for Renato Paratore and Matteo Manassero.

The latter runs into a Friday to forget, with a +3 that is worth the cut. Nothing to do also for Francesco Molinari, Filippo Celli and Lorenzo Scalise. The rules of golf are relatively complicated compared to other sports because they are played outdoors, close to nature and animals.

Respecting the rules is a basic element in the game of golf, which, almost always based on self-control and the free conscience of the players, often sees distorted results, sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously or through carelessness, due to the failure of many players to comply with the rules of the game.

In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally means playing the game with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an essential component of this sport.
