SOUTH BEND — After a gutty season-opening win last week at then No. 20 Texas A&M, Notre Dame football opens the home portion of its 2024 season by hosting Northern Illinois Saturday afternoon.
It’s the first ever meeting between the Irish (1-0) — ranked No. 7 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 5 in the AP poll — and unranked Huskies (1-0) of the Mid-American Conference.
