Committee announces new Utah fundraising appearance by former Pres. Donald Trump

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Former President Donald Trump has a new appearance in Utah on his schedule after his previous one was canceled, according to an announcement from a fundraising committee.

According to Trump 47 Committee, the Republican nominee for president will be in Salt Lake City on Sept. 14.

“You are invited to an evening reception with the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump,” according to the Trump 47 Committee, a joint fundraising committee between the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, with funds benefiting both the RNC and Trump’s political action committee, Save America.

“Additional details will be provided upon RSVP,” a digital flyer reads.

The starting price for admission is a donation of $3,300. The committee will also accept a fundraiser who brings in $10,000.

The levels go up, as does the admission price, from the $3,300/$10,000 attendee to the top-tier host committee member admission, which is half a million dollars per person.

The event was not listed in an apparent way on any of Trump’s formal schedules as of the publish time of this article, and the committee itself does not have an official website.

According to a donor form, obtained by the Washington Post, the most a person can donate is $814,600.

According to the Post’s article, which was published in March:

The donor form shows that the first $3,300 of each donation will be directed to the Trump for President primary election account; the next $3,300 will go to his general election account; the next $5,000 will go to Save America and the next $413,000 is directed to the RNC. The remaining dollars up to $814,600 will be directed in various amounts to the local Republican Party in 39 states.

The money in the Save America PAC money has been used to pay about $8.5 million on the former president’s mounting legal bills, as of March, according to the Washington Post.

The Trump campaign over the same period spent about $1.8 million.

Trump’s upcoming visit comes just a few weeks after his appearance at an August event was canceled. The August event was itself a rescheduled visit after a planned April campaign stop didn’t pan out.

Interested donors were directed to email the GOP for details on the event.
