Here are all the South Dakotans on NFL rosters in 2024

Sep. 4—SIOUX FALLS — The 2024 NFL preseason laid out clearly the correlation between getting drafted and making an NFL roster.

Thirteen rookies from South Dakota were in preseason camps this fall, but only the four who were drafted — South Dakota State’s Isaiah Davis and Mason McCormick, USD’s Myles Harden and O’Gorman graduate Tip Reiman — made their team’s 53-man rosters. And only three more — Augustana’s Blake Larson, USD’s Brock Mogensen and SDSU’s Isaiah Stalbird — landed on practice squads.

Former Jackrabbit Garret Greenfield was initially signed to the Seahawks practice squad but later released, while quarterback Chris Oladkun was waived by the Chiefs after they signed Bailey Zappe. Oladokun had a workout with the Giants earlier this week. Certainly there are players cut this summer who could be added to this list throughout the season.

Still, 16 players who are either from South Dakota or attended a South Dakota college, are on NFL rosters as the season begins, 12 of them on active rosters.

Here’s the list:

Jack Cochrane, LB, KC Chiefs, USD

Isaiah Davis, RB, NY Jets, SDSU
